The AFX Story

Shortly before World War II, William Rusnack, a banker and furniture retailer, founded AFX, a modestly-sized lighting company. By focusing on highly efficient, environmentally-friendly lighting, AFX has since grown into one of the country’s largest energy-efficient lighting manufacturers. Their products showcase the latest in LED technology, fluorescent lamping, state-of-the-art ballasts, and top notch design engineering that is suitable for both commercial and residential markets.

Fun Facts About AFX

Founder William Rusnack reportedly first encountered fluorescent lighting at the 1933-34 Century of Progress International Exposition in Chicago. He was so enamored with what he saw, he opened AFX’s first shop (then known as American Fluorescent) four years later.
